What is the story behind the values? The story of Levi-Kittilä Taxis dates back to the time when the village of Sirka was founded. At that time, there were 4 houses in the village. Toivasen Maria and Vesalan Esko have written a book about the settlement history of Sirka.

The history of Levi-Kittilä Taxis

Our story began about 100 years ago when the first car appeared in our home village. The car in question transported the village residents for a fee and from that began taxi service, which continues even in the fourth generation. Tourism in our small fell village also began early and was largely based on homestays. It can be said that our home village has grown up with tourism and service for several generations, it is not just a business for us, it is a way of life.

At Levi-Kittilän Taxis, we cherish and value the traditions we were born into, grew up in and continue to live in. The strong growth of tourism must not sever the roots that are deep at the foot of Levitunturi. It is good for our guests to remember that in the middle of all this is our home village, our home that we value and that is important to us. Since 1991, we have also centralized flexible availability for taxi services in our area under a common order number. The customer always gets the closest and fastest service from one service number, all year round and around the clock.

In a survey conducted in the past, foreign people considered Finnish education and taxis to be the best in the world, which should be maintained. However, due to foreign and political pressure, taxi traffic in Finland was allowed to run wild under market economy conditions. However, we at Levi-Kittilän Taksei have not forgotten what was once and especially today the best service in the world.
